Honeybees on birdbath

Empty it out and give the bird bath a good scrub. My guess is that it's filled with pollen and the water has made bee Kool-Aide.

Does anyone else have this problem? Honeybees have taken over the birdbath so much that the birds or squirrels can not use it. Anyone have any solutions? The bees come from hives that are about 1/4 miles away. (I assume that is where they come from.)
